    Prerequisites: Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, and Five years fire service experience minimum required. Non-officers are encouraged to apply but preference will be given to currently serving Fire Officers.

    This class focuses on the same key areas for the officers identified in the first awareness course, but “takes them up a notch”. Rather than being focused on the company level officer, it is focused on the station or multiple company officer.

    All students are required to bring a clean set of structural firefighting turnouts for Day 2 of class.

    This NFPA 1851 class will provide the student insight into the selection, care, and maintenance of your Firefighter Personal Protective Ensemble (PPE). The course will also detail information about proper tracking of PPE and the help of developing an NFPA 1851 compliant program. This class will combine hands-on training/demonstration and classroom presentation.
