REQUIREMENTS

• Applicant must have been involved in the Emergency Services for a minimum of 5 years and meet the requirements of NFPA 1021 – 2020, Standard for Fire Officer Chapter 4, Section 4.1 per the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
• The State of Michigan requires the student to have Fire Instructor 1 certification prior to receiving Fire Officer 1. Students may take the FO1 class first, and certification will be held until the Fire Instructor 1 is obtained later.
